Inaugural VPELA Barber Lecture huge success!
VPELA’s inaugural Barber Lecture 18 October 2014, was a truly landmark event both for the Association and the planning industry. Named in honour of our founding President Peter Barber, who was our special guest, this event was conceived by our Board with the idea that VPELA could play an important role in heightening debate, raising awareness and promoting discussion about big issues. And we did just that! The Hon. Jeff Kennett AC, proved to be a passionate speaker with a devotion to the gift of life and a desire to see Victoria and Australia prosper and achieve their true potential.
As expected he was engaging, entertaining and thought provoking. The combination of Jeff Kennett and Jon Faine, who interviewed him after his presentation, presented a wonderful opportunity to explore some of the issues raised in the lecture in a little more detail. It was fabulous to see such an impressive turnout of VPELA members and industry luminaries and our audience clearly enjoyed this outstanding event. The Barber Lecture will be featured in October’s VPELA Revue. Our thanks to our sponsors Urbis for helping to make the Barber Lecture possible. We look forward to organising the next one!
