Inaugural VPELA Barber Lecture
VPELA is very proud and excited to announce that the inaugural VPELA Barber Lecture, named in honour of our founding President Peter Barber, will take place on 18th September at the ANZ Pavilion at the Victorian Arts Centre.
“Resilience, democracy and creating a globally competitive future for Victoria”
to be delivered by
Hon. Jeff Kennett AC, Former Premier of Victoria and Founding Chairman, beyondblue
MC: Jon Faine, Presenter 774 ABC Morning Programme.
The VPELA Barber Lecture will provide the opportunity to hear the Hon. Jeff Kennett speak about his experience as a former Premier of Victoria during which he implemented a massive, and at times abrupt, change agenda. He will examine and critique his political legacy and comment on what worked, what didn’t and what, with hindsight, he might have done differently. The Hon. Mr Kennett will consider what needs to happen to create a globally competitive future for Victoria – economically, culturally, socially, environmentally and politically – to ensure Victoria continues to lead the way, particularly in relation to democracy, planning and growth.
